When Cynthia Beischel's husband drowned, she began keeping a journal to help deal with the grief. She then tried publishing her thoughts in magazines, but was told by editors that there just wasn't a market for
them. Frustrated, she started talking with a friend when she suddenly had a revelation: publish a book.
So she started writing From Eulogy To Joy. The 1974 graduate, along with Kristina Chase Strom, who attended Edgecliff College, compiled nearly 150 stories from people who dealt with death in a variety of ways. Contributors include New York Times best-selling author Neale Donald Walsch and Judy Belushi, widow of actor John Belushi. One story, "Danny's Gift", was dramatized on the PAX television show "It's A Miracle".
"My hope is that it becomes a resource book that people turn to when
they're dealing with death," says Beischel. "It's the kind of book you
dig into at different times. There are so many layers to it."
